2008 Texas Motorcycle Events and Rallies

Here are the major Texas motorcycle rallies; the following is information on the “Big 3” biker events in Texas. Whether you are looking for family oriented motorcycle events in Texas or a wild biker rally, one of these is bound to fit your needs.

June Texas Motorcycle Event; ROT Rally

The first of the 2008 motorcycle events Texas offers happens in early June each year in Austin Texas; the ROT Rally (aka Republic of Texas Rally).

Of the Texas motorcycle events, ROT has a good location for Texan bikers because Austin is situated between Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. This biker event attracts some 40,000 attendees to the Travis County Expo Center which is the official Republic of Texas Rally grounds, although some estimate that the total draw to the area in attendance from bikers and admirers of motorcycles in the downtown area exceeds 200,000.

Austin definitely has one of the best downtown scenes to party in Texas or in any state, and this Texas biker rally gets pretty wild at night. If you have not had the opportunity to see custom bike builders that will be at ROT or seen the bands that will be at the rally; many people enjoy the inexpensive drinks downtown, free bands, without paying a cover charge, and the rides in the Hill Country in Austin.

October Texas Biker Event, SPI Bike Fest

At the end of October towards the end of the biker events in Texas, South Padre Island Texas hosts the SPI BikeFest . South Padre is an Island located on the southern tip of Texas. This “Big 4” Texas motorcycle event is the largest family oriented rally that attracts over 10,000 motorcyclists.

At one end of South Padre is the official motorcycle rally grounds and at the other end is the Schlitterbahn water park, which has a huge stage where a number of bands play and also provides some additional vendor space. Texas’ Padre Island city roads are set up with two long streets that are lined with shops and outdoor bars. So there it plenty going on in between the two event spots. SPI Bike Fest unofficially closes out the Texas biker events season.

October/November Motorcycle Events in Texas, Lone Star Galveston Rally

During late October or early November you will find the Galveston Bike Rally in the south eastern portion of Texas in the Gulf Coast of Mexico.

Notably, this is by far the largest free motorcycle events Texas has to offer. This biker rally is held across the whole city of Galveston and with over 250,000 attendees and the city is bursting at the seams. Here again, you will be able to find all of the major motorcycle manufacturers; parts, accessory, and biker apparel companies; custom biker builders; any biker event you can imagine; and national music acts.
